Joanne Fagerstrom, PT, CFP
Joanne Fagerstrom, PT, CFP, has been in practice since 1978, (Hunter College, NY), and practiced in various Philadelphia area teaching hospitals, (Temple University Hospital, Pennsylvania Hospital, Chestnut Hill Rehabilitation Hospital), before launching her private practice, Mindful Physical Therapy, LLC, in 2012. After being diagnosed with osteoporosis herself in 2009, Ms. Fagerstrom began the research and development of her comprehensive bone health program to help prevent, safely manage, and even reverse osteoporosis, as she was able to do. She specializes in working with active adults with osteoporosis and low bone mass and places a strong emphasis on wellness and prevention in her treatment programs.
Her certification in the Feldenkrais Method (2004) adds a unique dimension to her practice of physical therapy. In 2017, she augmented her work by completing a certificate program in nutrition through Cornell University. Ms. Fagerstrom has taught her public workshop, Taking Charge of Your Bone Health, throughout the Delaware Valley since 2011, and teaches her weekly Strong Bones exercise classes both online and in-person. In 2015, she produced and released her educational Strong Bones exercise video; the second edition was released in 2021. Ms. Fagerstrom is a proud member of the Geriatric, Bone Health, and Health Promotion and Wellness special interest groups of the APTA.
